Casey and Tim’s intimate backyard wedding was such a beautiful day! The couple met through a mutual love of volleyball and coaching. After getting engaged in September 2019, they decided to get married under the Japanese Maple in their backyard. I love when couples pick a spot that means so much to them! These two will always have these memories in their own backyard, and every time they look at their Japanese Maple, they will remember their vows to one another.
Their wedding day was hot and stormy, but that didn’t matter. Once the thunderstorms cleared, they were able to hold their ceremony after sunset, under the lit-up branches of the Japanese maple. The cafe lights strung in the tree added a soft glow. During the ceremony, their handwritten and personal vows were shared under the stars in their backyard, making it a beautiful, magical, and memorable night. They were married by their high school volleyball coach in front of their closest family and friends (and their two puppies)!
After their ceremony, their reception kept the celebration going. They had a dessert and candy bar and a food truck to keep their guests fed and entertained. They tended part of their backyard and strung lights throughout their yard for a little bit of light.
Intimate weddings like these remind me why I love being a photographer. I love when I am able to capture the love that my couples share on camera in such a special setting. Having the opportunity to come into a couple’s home, into their backyard, and share these special moments with them is not something I take lightly.
