Hannah and Shawn were married on a beautiful fall afternoon at The Barn at Wight Farm in Sturbridge, MA. They were both originally from MA and NY and only lived about an hour away from each other, but they never knew each other until we met in Houston. It only took three months before they knew they wanted to get married, and they started planning their wedding. Nine months after they first met, they were married!
Wight Farm’s barn is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect space for a rustic wedding. It was a great backdrop for Hannah and Shawn’s wedding, which was so intimate and touching. Their personalized vows stick out to me the most. They were incredibly personal and meaningful. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
It’s my job to bring my client’s vision to life and create memories for them. For instance, Hannah had let me know that her father had recently had a stroke and would need some extra care and attention. I made sure to get as many pictures of them together as possible that night.
Hannah and Shawn were also set on the fact that they did not want to do a first look. I always work to accommodate my clients, but the catch was that their wedding wasn’t until 7 PM. By the time we would be taking couple portraits, it would be completely dark outside. But by utilizing on and off camera flash, we were able to get them some amazing portraits with the gorgeous background The Barn at Wight Farm provides.
Hannah informed me a few months ago that her father had sadly passed away from a heart attack. She let me know that those photos of them together meant everything to her and her family. I’m so glad I got to be a part of their beautiful wedding at The Barn at Wight Farm and give them those treasured photos.
I take on a limited number of weddings each year to make sure I can get to know my clients and know what’s important to them on their wedding day. It is never lost on me what I’m being trusted with when I’m hired to shoot someone’s wedding day. I am always humbled to be invited to such a personal and private event. I know that while I am capturing the couple’s love, I’m also capturing their family story too. To be able to give my couples beautiful pictures of their family as well as the emotional, fun, candid shots is the best part of what I do.
I would be honored to be a part of your day too, and I would love to hear from you. Just let me know how I can best capture your special day.
