Amiah and Josh’s Hartford City Hall Wedding managed to be both elegant and electric.
From a quiet, emotional first touch at their hotel to a floral-filled ceremony inside one of Connecticut’s most iconic buildings, and ending with a high-energy Pond House reception, this Connecticut wedding was intentional, vibrant, and completely alive from start to finish.

A First Touch & Blessing Before Their Hartford City Hall Wedding
The day began at the hotel, where Amiah and Josh chose to do something deeply meaningful before heading to Hartford City Hall.
Instead of a first look, they shared a first touch – holding hands around a corner without seeing one another. It was grounding. Emotional. Quiet in the best way.
They took a moment to breathe together before the day officially began.
Their officiant joined them and offered a private blessing, centering them before they left separately for their ceremony. It was intimate and intentional – the kind of pause that reminds you what the day is actually about before the celebration unfolds.
As a Connecticut Wedding Photographer, these slower, unscripted moments are often the ones that hold the most weight.

A Floral-Filled Ceremony at Hartford City Hall
If you’ve ever stepped inside Hartford City Hall, you know it’s one of the most striking Connecticut wedding venues. The marble staircases, soaring architecture, and dramatic natural light make it unforgettable before you add a single detail.
But then Pattern and Style stepped in with florals.
The altar was built with abundant blooms and candles, softening the grandeur of the architecture while still honoring its scale. Designed and executed flawlessly by Wanda of WRL Events, the ceremony space felt romantic, elevated, and cohesive.
Their guests were encouraged to wear pink and/or orange and they absolutely understood the assignment! The room was filled with warm, saturated tones that complemented the florals and made the entire space feel intentional and celebratory.
It didn’t just look beautiful.
It felt curated.

Having Hartford City Hall All to Ourselves
After family portraits at the floral altar, something magical happened.
We had the entire Hartford City Hall to ourselves.
No distractions. No foot traffic. Just Amiah and Josh, the marble architecture, and the kind of natural light photographers dream about.
It was a literal dream.
We wandered the staircases and archways, leaning into the symmetry and scale of this incredible Connecticut wedding venue. Josh in his iconic blue suit. Amiah glowing. The contrast of bold architecture with soft florals.
When venue and couple align like that, portraits feel effortless.
This is why a Hartford City Hall Wedding is such an incredible choice; it offers both grandeur and intimacy if you know how to use the space.

A Pond House Wedding Reception Full of Energy
After portraits wrapped, we headed to The Pond House for the reception and the energy shifted into full celebration mode.
Set alongside Elizabeth Park, The Pond House is one of those Connecticut wedding venues that blends refined design with natural surroundings. The floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with light during cocktail hour, and by evening, the glow inside feels warm and inviting.
Amiah and Josh leaned fully into the experience.
The tablescapes were layered and colorful. The music was incredible. The dance floor was packed. And the cigar bar added an unexpected, stylish edge to the night. Guests gathered outside, laughing and celebrating in between songs.
This wasn’t a quiet reception.
It was vibrant, joyful, and completely theirs.

A Connecticut Wedding Designed With Intention
From beginning to end, this Hartford City Hall Wedding was built on intention.
A private first touch and blessing before the ceremony.
Florals that transformed a grand architectural space.
A guest palette that unified the room.
A Pond House Wedding reception that carried the energy into the night.
But beyond the design and the venues, what made this Connecticut wedding unforgettable was Amiah and Josh themselves.
How they centered each other before the ceremony.
The way they moved through City Hall like they had all the time in the world.
Showing up fully on the dance floor once the music started.
Elegant. Bold. Present.
And completely unforgettable.
